Some of the best champions in tennis history will once again hit the courts of the Dubai Tennis Stadium at The Aviation Club for the fourth time. The tournament features Champion players such as: former world number one Jim Courier, former Wimbledon Champion Goran Ivanisevic, two time French Open Champion Sergi Bruguera and former doubles world number one and 2007 The Legends “Rock” Dubai Champion, Paul Haarhuis. Also joining the field this year will be Olympic silver medalist Wayne Ferreira of South Africa, former world number one doubles player Anders Jarryd of Sweden, and his ex doubles partner John Fitzgerald of Australia as well as Iranian tennis genius, Mansour Bahrami, who will be joining the doubles exhibition matches. The six day program begins on 17th November with the official press conference and is followed by the popular Kids Day, the Pro-AM and the legendary Charity Gala Dinner on 18th November. The key element of the Charity Gala Dinner is the Charity Auction held by Christie’s with proceeds donated to the two official tournament charities, Dubai Autism Center and Dubai Center for Special Needs.

Legends will entertain the crowds with their athletic prowess and flawless technique that helped them reach the top of the tennis world during their days on the ATP tour. The tournament follows a round robin format, which means that every day spectators will see two competitive singles matches and one exhibition doubles match. All participating players will be divided into two groups, with Goran Ivanisevic, Wayne Ferreira and Anders Jarryd in group A and Jim Courier, Paul Haarhuis and Sergi Bruguera in group B. Every player will play two singles matches over the first three days before the finalists are decided. The competition is red hot!

On day one, the audience will witness a mouthwatering doubles encounter: Goran Ivanisevic - John Fitzgerald vs. Mansour Bahrami - Jim Courier. This one is truly worth waiting for! Fiery Aces from the racket of Croatian Goran Ivanisevic teamed up with feather touch of John Fitzgerald at the net up against the heavy base-line hitting of Jim Courier in alliance with the ever entertaining Mansour Bahrami. On the second day of the tournament the treat continues, in a rematch of last year’s final, our own defending champion Paul Haarhuis vs. last years runner-up Jim Courier. Day three is jam packed with quality matches: first up it is the tall left-handed Croatian against Sweden’s very own Anders Jarryd, followed by doubles featuring Paul Haarhuis - John Fitzgerald vs. Mansour Bahrami – Wayne Ferreira and last but not least the rematch of Roland Garros Final of 1993: Sergi Bruguera vs. Jim Courier. Back then the crafty clay courter beat the American in a grueling five set match. Who will win it this time?

Completing the tournament on Saturday 22nd November the scheduled will be: the 3rd Place Match, Doubles Exhibition Match followed by Championship Match. With this year’s lineup it is impossible to pick a favorite.
